The Undertaker Reveals Last-Minute WrestleMania 40 Surprise Cameo

According to The Undertaker, everything came together at the last minute.

During WWE WrestleMania 40, The Undertaker unexpectedly showed up during Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ main match. In the end, he defeated The Rock and enabled Rhodes to win.

The Undertaker talked about how his appearance in the event came together in the most recent episode of his podcast, Six Feet Under. (Thanks to Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert for the transcription.)

He stated, “It happened pretty spontaneously.” Our arrival in Philadelphia was on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Triple H called me. “Hey, there are a lot of things going on and a lot of ideas being considered for this.” Would you like to participate in it? “I don’t know how, but if I can help, that’s fine, whatever you guys need,” the speaker said, assuming it works. Please inform me. “We are just assembling ideas; we don’t have anything yet.” It wasn’t until Thursday that I heard anything more. Michael Hayes sent me a text message. “We’re brainstorming some ideas.” “That’s cool; tell me.” And that was all. The One Deadman Show is where I am.

The Executor Remembers Receiving The Text

The Undertaker went on to say that Paul Heyman texted him. He explained how the conversations dragged on until Sunday, when he received an SMS.

Paul Heyman sent me a text message. “Interesting.” Initially, I said to Paul, “This isn’t about me.” Please let me know if the men want me to help in any way. It won’t be personal against me if they don’t. I’m doing fine. There’s no need to feel under pressure. It had oscillated in and out. On Sundays, you see me getting up when I receive a text. I knew there was a good chance at that moment.

The Undertaker continued, explaining that he received the text about 25% of the way into Sunday night’s performance.

Undertaker came in town for WrestleMania weekend and the Hall of Fame ceremony prior to WrestleMania 40. Muhammad Ali was admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame by him.
