When A.J. Brown, a receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, updated his Twitter profile image to a photo of Tom Brady on X, he didn’t anticipate receiving negative feedback.
Following a barrage of, uh, fan criticism, Brown responded to his altered profile on Thursday with a post.
Brown wrote, “[Tom Brady] is my favorite player of all time.” “I Did not think changing my [profile picture] to the greatest QB ever would cause controversy.”
My all-time favorite player is TB12.
When I watched the dynasty, it reminded me of parts of my early years.
Check up what he did in 2015 when he faced mistrust and disdain.
Yes, I do recognize the disrespect.
Motivated, indeed. That’s it. I never considered making my PFP the best.

Brown didn’t stop there, though.
He told a fan, “I don’t live by the rules of the world.” “He is the greatest person to touch a football; he is retired. It’s not that important.
I don’t follow the laws of the world. The greatest person to touch a football is this retired gentleman. It’s not that important.

It’s not that serious, after all.
Brown grew up watching Brady and the New England Patriots win Super Bowls, much like the majority of players in the NFL these days. When Brady started his first NFL game in 2001, Brown was four years old. In 2019, Brady was forty-two years old and in his last season with the Patriots when Brown made his NFL debut.
Before Brady’s official retirement, Brown and Brady played together on the field once, on January 4, 2020, during a playoff game between the Tennessee Titans and New England. That was also Brady’s last game in a Patriots uniform before he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the next season.
Maybe there will be a profile photo swap in the near future if the Eagles’ top receiver and Brady were unable to exchange jerseys after that game.
