A Tennis Star Reveals Health Struggle : I Also Faced Problems due to…

Before the 2024 Madrid Open final, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev, in their own words, dealt with a few concerns.

During the game, the Canadian sought a medical timeout to receive a massage for his leg. Both athletes genuinely struggled, particularly the Russian who, upon winning the championship, disclosed that he had numerous health difficulties.

He battled a health issue and saw numerous doctors in an attempt to prepare himself. Because of this, he had trouble sleeping and had to have a numbing shot in order to play the last game.

In addition, Auger-Aliassime appeared defeated as the game came to a close since it was obvious how his leg affected him. Rublev observed that he wasn’t moving as much and used his shots to shift him around.

Rublev was able to close out the third set and win the match after he also lost his serve late in the game. Regarding the exact issues he had, the Canadian acknowledged that he had stomach problems earlier in the event in addition to leg cramps.

“This week has been peculiar. I also experienced stomach issues in the middle of the competition. I wasn’t sure if I could play one day, and Mensik just left. I don’t know, it’s bizarre. Rublev as well; I’m not sure if a virus has been present, perhaps in Madrid.”

“Despite my good fortune to avoid playing in the quarterfinals or semifinals, I experienced cramps today.” I believe it’s a bodily issue because I haven’t experienced it frequently in my professional life. My body must have grown weary of battling the infection for the entire week.

Prior to the championship match, he didn’t play much because Jari Lehecka retired after just six games in their semifinal and Jannik Sinner withdrew from their quarterfinal. He wasn’t sure if he could have played with the problem he was having, as the Canadian pointed out, so it really worked to his great advantage.
