Todd Bowles: A Different Approach is going to be taken by the Bucs

Were the Bucs last year too well-prepared? Too impassive? Too far removed from their global superstar quarterback?

Joe is unsure of the precise meaning that Bucs coach Todd Bowles intended to convey during his press conference the day before yesterday. However, Bowles made it apparent that he wasn’t happy with the atmosphere on his team during the previous campaign.

Bowles was questioned regarding Baker Mayfield’s influence on the Bucs, his integration with his teammates in the locker room, and his overall impact. Bowles stated that a change of some kind was required during the previous offseason.

Because of his differences and the fact that Bowles believes his team is different, Bowles believes Mayfield is relatable. “I believe we should have taken a different route.

For us, it has worked out. I believe that the mindset he introduced would spread to both an experienced and a younger team. That, in my opinion, is who he is. That aspect is not particularly significant, but what is noteworthy is the leadership he has demonstrated and the manner in which we have attempted to turn the team around.

He sits with the offence and defence and leads the veterans as well. During summer training camp and the offseason, he really helped to bring the guys together and foster camaraderie so that we wouldn’t panic in difficult times.

What point was Bowles making? Was Tom Brady too far away?

Joe doubts Brady had a close relationship with any of his teammates, with the possible exceptions of Mike Evans and Blaine Gabbert. Yes, he had a soft spot for many of them, but Brady was Brady.
