Sad News: Springbok Dou In Critical State Due To…

The Springbok pair have surgery! Blessing or setback?

Following their injuries in Japan, two-star Springboks underwent surgery.

Will they return in time for the South African Tests in July?

After having surgery in Japan, two-time World Cup champions Jesse Kriel and Faf de Klerk may be out for several months.

Playing for the Canon Eagles in League One in Japan, Kriel and De Klerk were instrumental in the Springboks’ World Cup victory in France last year, when South Africa won back-to-back Webb Ellis Cup crowns.

The Canon Eagles will, regrettably, be without their famous combo for some time since they recently had surgery to treat their individual injuries.

OPENING UP ON INJURY STRUGGLES: SPRINGBOKS PAIR!

In a recent Instagram post, Kriel disclosed that he would be temporarily absent due to a successful thumb procedure.

His goal is to be back by the end of the season, which should allow him to play in the Republic of Ireland when the Boks play that month.

He stated, “I will be away for a while as I have to have surgery to repair my thumb, which I’ve been struggling with.”

“Hopefully, I won’t miss too many games. I’ll be back for a couple games at the conclusion of the season. I shall therefore try my hardest to heal as quickly as possible.

De Klerk needed knee surgery, but there’s no set amount of time he needs to heal.

De Klerk, the starting scrumhalf for the Springboks, expressed his disappointment at being sidelined but promised to put in a lot of effort to return as soon as possible.

He wrote on social media, “I can’t wait to get back on the field with the Eagles family as soon as possible, but I’m really disappointed that I need to have surgery on my knee.”

“I promise to work extremely hard, but I kindly ask for everyone’s support for the squad. Thank you.
