Micah Parsons, a linebacker with the Dallas Cowboys, is not pleased with the Philadelphia Eagles’ first-round selection.
Quinyon Mitchell, a CB from Toledo, was chosen by the Eagles with the 22nd overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft. As reported by Jon Machota of The Athletic, Parsons expressed his dismay after the decision was made, saying he is “utterly disgusted” at how fortunate the Eagles are.

According to ESPN’s Kevin Negandhi, the 22-year-old Mitchell finished the 2023 season without giving up a touchdown pass in 402 coverage snaps. He also recorded a 4.33 40-yard sprint.

With Darius Slay and James Bradberry, the team’s top two cornerbacks, both older than three, Philadelphia had a serious need at the position. Due to his poor play in the team’s playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, veteran cornerback Bradberry was benched throughout the 2023 season. The 30-year-old cornerback gave up five receptions for 108 yards and one touchdown on six targets (one was dropped).
Finally, according to Pro Football Focus, Bradberry had a below-average 56.6 defensive grade and a 54.7 coverage grade in 2023. The Eagles’ poor performance was a big factor in their 31st-place finish in passing yards and touchdowns allowed during the previous campaign.
While Bradberry has a $15 million dead-cap cost for the 2024 season, he is still under contract with the Eagles. However, it appears that Philadelphia addressed a significant hole by acquiring Mitchell, who is expected to start opposite Slay at cornerback.
It implies that when the Cowboys play the Eagles the following season, they will have one less vulnerability to take advantage of.
Parsons isn’t exactly thrilled that the Eagles selected a potential star and steal on draft day, but he is content enough with Dallas’ selection in the first round.
In a transaction with the Detroit Lions, the Cowboys traded down from No. 24 to No. 29 in the first round of the draft to choose Tyler Guyton, a University of Oklahoma product. Tyron Smith, an eight-time Pro Bowler who signed an offseason deal with the New York Jets after spending 13 years in Dallas, is projected to be replaced by Guyton, a 22-year-old tackle prospect who is among the best prospects in the draft.
“I don’t mind the choice,” Parsons replies. More depth at left tackle is what we need. It’s quite fascinating. It’s not a poor choice. I refuse to ever doubt Will McClay.
With the departure of starting center Tyler Biadasz via free agency, the Cowboys will have two new starters along the offensive line with the arrival of Guyton.
