Rookie third baseman Brett Harris launched two massive home runs during the Oakland Athletics’ rout of the Miami Marlins. On Saturday, the Oakland Athletics’ offence had a field day, and Brett Harris, a rookie, was no different. In just his second MLB game, Harris was batting ninth in the lineup and started at third base against the Miami Marlins. Despite having a sluggish start to the day, he managed to reach on an error in the second and draw a walk in the third.The A’s had already taken a 12-0 lead when Harris reached base for the third time. Still, he continued to pile on, starting the fourth inning with a single home drive to left. Harris continued his unbeaten streak in the bottom of the sixth inning by launching a two-run home drive. Harris had himself a day even after popping out and grounding out in his final two at-bats. Harris made his major league debut on Friday and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. On Saturday, he went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and three runs. Harris became just the 11th player in Athletics franchise history to hit his first two career MLB home runs in the same game, according to MLB.com’s Sarah Langs. Since Ramon Laureano in 2018, no one has done it. No Athletics player had accomplished the feat since Bill Bathe in 1986 until Matt Olson and Matt Chapman did it in 2017. blasted his first two MLB home runs in the same game as the A’s franchise.
