KCTV CHARLOTTE, N.C. A former cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs is facing legal issues once more. Over the weekend, Bashaud Breeland was taken into custody for the second time in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Jail records state that Breeland was taken into custody on Saturday at 2:44 p.m. Nine charges total—three felonies and six misdemeanors—are brought against the 6-foot-1 former Chiefs cornerback who assisted Kansas City in winning Super Bowl LIV. Assault against a government official is one of the two misdemeanour offences.Breeland was also detained in August 2023 on suspicion of possessing a stolen weapon, a stolen car, and many narcotics offences, according to WBTV in Charlotte. Breeland was found in possession of several firearms, including two AR-15s and two AK-47s, as well as a stolen Mercedes-Benz SUV when he was taken into custody back in August of 2023, according to the police report. During a traffic stop along North Graham Street, police seized the car and its armaments in addition to almost five pounds of marijuana, 62 grammes of suspected mushrooms, and narcotics paraphernalia. Born and raised in Allendale, South Carolina, Breeland attended Clemson University for his collegiate career before being selected in the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons as a player with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he helped the team win the 2019 and 2020 Super Bowls.
