Joe Flacco’s New Deal With The Browns Could Result In Significant Bonuses

The Cleveland Browns signed Joe Flacco to a new contract on Thursday, which includes large financial incentives. Flacco will start quarterback for the rest of the season.

With his new contract, Flacco will be guaranteed a large salary for the remainder of the season—assuming he can lead the team to the playoffs. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the seasoned quarterback will get $75,000 for each victory during the regular season. After that, he will be entitled to $250,000 in the event that the Browns advance to the Wild Card round, $500,000 in the event they win the Divisional round, $1 million in the event they win the AFC Championship, and $2 million in the event they win the Super Bowl.

According to a source familiar with the agreement, Joe Flacco’s new one-year contract with the Browns includes $4.05 million in win-based incentives.

For each of the final four games he wins in the regular season, Flacco will receive a salary of $75,000.

Flacco will have a chance to earn some serious cash because the Browns are undoubtedly in a good position to make the playoffs. This must be a welcome surprise for the 38-year-old, who spent the majority of the season in the free agent pool, even though he has made plenty of money throughout his career.

After two starts, Flacco is 0–1 for the Browns. With an outstanding performance against Jacksonville in Week 14, he secured the starting position.
