Cowboys’ Mike McCarthy stirs up controversy over the concerning Dak Prescott starters choice

Mike McCarthy has the Cowboys faithful enthralled.

The Buffalo Bills dominated the Dallas Cowboys from start to finish on Sunday, but Mike McCarthy did not appear to bench his starters in order to minimise the risk of injury to important players. McCarthy’s decision to leave Dak Prescott and other starters in the game in the fourth quarter was undoubtedly met with criticism on social media.

“By keeping his starters in this lineup, Mike McCarthy is engaging in coaching malpractice. Cowboys Report’s Tom Downey declared, “This is reckless.”

Blogging the Boys’ RJ Ochoa did not hold back in criticising McCarthy, saying, “It is incredibly stupid to leave Dak Prescott and the Cowboys starters to bear all of this punishment.” Mike McCarthy must find his composure.

“Mike McCarthy is quite the stat-padding energy at his players’ peril, as his starters are still behind four scores in the rain well into the fourth quarter. Kevin Massare of Going Deep Buffalo added, “Grrr.

Another one from @ryansuydam, an X user: “Mike McCarthy is crazy for starting his starters right now, haha.”

“Mike McCarthy is once again a moron. Why are you starting when the game is over? @BumblebeeBball was added.

With a five-game winning streak and a thrilling 33-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13, the Cowboys entered the Bills game with high spirits. However, a resolute Bills team found openings in Dallas’ defence and stopped Prescott and company on the other side of the field to easily win 31–10.
