Sad News: Targeted by Injuries: Buxton Benched as Twins’ Trio Faces Setbacks!

Derek Falvey, the president of operations for the Twins, met on Friday at Target Field with reporters, including KSTP Sports. He gave updates on the injuries of 3B Royce Lewis (quad), RP Justin Topa (knee), and CF Byron Buxton (knee).

Due to discomfort in his right knee, Buxton was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Friday.

Following an unsuccessful attempt to steal second base on Wednesday, Buxton left the game against the Chicago White Sox in the second inning due to pain in his right knee.

After Buxton singled to start the first, catcher Kory Lee threw him out because he failed to slide into second. Willi Castro, who moved from third base, took Buxton’s place in the bottom half of the field as he slowly left.

An injury to his right knee kept Buxton, an All-Star in 2022, to 85 games as a designated hitter in the previous campaign.

The Twins anticipate that in ten to fourteen days, Buxton will be able to play again.
