McVay: Kyren Williams had surgery to mend a broken hand bone, and Tyler Higbee tore his ACL and MCL against the Lions.
1,000 Oaks, California In the Rams’ playoff game against the Lions, tight end Tyler Higbee tore his ACL. Rams head coach Sean McVay stated on Wednesday that Higbee’s injury was a double tear to his ACL and MCL.
After being hit low by Lions safety Kerby Joseph with 5:10 left in the fourth quarter on Sunday at Ford Field, Higbee suffered a knee injury and did not play again.
Although Higbee’s return date is still unknown, McVay stated that since the injury happened late in the season, “he’ll be a candidate for PUP,” which stands for the Physically Unable to Perform list.
McVay stated, “I think you need to get that surgery.” “The rehab actually turns out to be different depending on what they actually discover when you check in and how the treatment and recovery work to address it. However, I believe he will at the very least be a PUP person.”
Running back Kyren Williams, who hurt his hand against the Lions, underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to fix a broken bone in his hand, according to McVay. Before sustaining that injury and leaving the game, Williams had a team-high 13 carries for 61 yards and one reception for 9 yards.
