Coach Dennard Wilson of the Ravens’ defensive backs will speak with the Rams.
NFL coordinator roles are in high demand, and the Los Angeles Rams are pursuing a highly sought-after candidate in Dennard Wilson, the defensive backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens.
In high demand as a contender for coordinator positions in the NFL is Dennard Wilson, who is now the defensive backs coach for the Ravens.
The New York Giants are interviewing Wilson again for the key position on Brian Daboll’s coaching staff, according to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Wilson also has interviews scheduled with the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams.
Dennard Wilson began working as a coach with the St. Louis Rams back in 2012. He stayed with the team through its relocation to Los Angeles, rising through the ranks and receiving a promotion to defensive backs coach.
After moving to the New York Jets in 2017, Wilson took up the same role and the added responsibility of passing game coordinator.
Wilson’s past with the Rams suggests that a return to the team would be advantageous.
Dennard Wilson, who made his NFL debut in his first season with the Baltimore Ravens, was a major factor in the team’s rise to the No. 6 overall defensive ranking. He was especially strong in the No. 6 pass defense slot.
Wilson’s experience sticks out as a possible motivator for improvement in these clubs, especially in light of the poor defensive performances of the Giants, Titans, and Rams, all of which are expected to finish in the lower half of the league in 2023.
