Next month, Tom Cannon will undoubtedly be praying that one of the two Foxes stars departs.
It has been a frustrating start to life at Leicester City for striker Tom Cannon.
The Foxes’ remarkable start to the season comes after an impressive summer transfer window that saw nine new players arrive at the club, and many of those new additions have made a big impact
However, striker Tom Cannon, who joined the team on deadline day for a £7.5 million price from Everton, hasn’t had a great experience thus far.
Preston, Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United, Norwich City, and Middlesbrough were among the teams that Leicester had to contend with to land Cannon. However, a back injury has kept him out of action for the majority of the season, and he only made his Leicester debut as a substitute in the team’s 4-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle earlier this month.
Cannon has since made two further appearances from the bench, including a cameo against Birmingham on Monday night, but the 20-year-old will be keen to receive significantly more game time in the second half of the campaign.
Tom Cannon will be hoping for January exits from Leicester City.
Despite Cannon’s lack of game time, it seems he is still very much part of Maresca’s plans, with journalist Alan Nixon claiming that Leicester will keep hold of him in January despite receiving enquiries from a handful of clubs about taking him on loan.
