Before playing the Carolina Panthers, the Green Bay Packers receive heartbreaking news about their starter.
Just two weeks ago the Green Bay Packers were 6-6 and riding high after three impressive wins in a row. Beating the Los Angeles Chargers, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs put them team right into NFC playoff conversation. However, two brutal losses to the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers leaves the Packers with no margin for error for the remainder of the season.
Now the road may have gotten a little tougher for the Packers as one of their starters suddenly showed up on the injury report.
Merely two days before their game against the Carolina Panthers, the Green Bay Packers place starting safety on the injured report.
Starting Safety Rudy Ford (back) popped up on the injury report ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Carolina Panthers.
He was listed as a limited participant due to a “back issue.” Ford, who is 29-years-old, has been one of the more productive Safties on the team. If he is forced to miss Sunday’s game it will be the fourth game missed due to injury this season.
If Ford is unable to go, Jonathan Owens figures to get the start at Strong Safety.
