Breaking News: Everton battle against Luton For…

Before the deadline, Everton and Luton Town were interested in loaning a Nigerian striker.

The winter transfer window ends on Thursday, and Everton and Luton Town are interested in loaning out Anglo-Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom to them.

Teamtalk claims that in an effort to maintain their Premier League standing, the two teams aim to sign the former Middlesbrough forward.

Everton’s 10-point deduction for breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations has left them one point outside of the relegation zone.

With 24 goals, the fourth fewest in the division, from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Arnaut Danjuma, the Toffees are also having trouble scoring goals.

Conversely, Luton is presently ranked eighteenth in the table, and similarly to Everton, they have scored just twenty-four goals in the league thus far this year.

If Akpom can continue to play at the same level as he did for Middlesbrough in the Championship last year, both teams may gain from the signing.

The Hale End native, who had a sluggish start to life at Ajax, is finally starting to settle in and has nine goals in twenty games.

The 28-year-old has reportedly shown interest in joining the Premier League, but it is unclear if Ajax will approve a deal that would allow him to return to England.
