Breaking News: Burnley’s Star CB Shares Success Story

After grabbing a goal for Bristol City, Scott Twine shares details on his departure from Hull City.

According to Scott Twine, Burnley picked up the 24-year-old from his loan term at the MKM Stadium because they were worried about how he would fit into Liam Rosenior’s squad at Hull City.

Amidst injuries in Rosenior’s team, Twine only made six appearances in his favored number 10 position behind the central striker, netting four goals, before the Turf Moor team terminated his loan with City and sent him to Bristol City for the remainder of the season.

With a header in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate, he made quite an impression on his Robins debut.

The fans’ hopes of seeing the 24-year-old secure a consistent starting spot in Rosenior’s lineup in his ideal position were dashed when City signed Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool.

“I had a great time at Hull,” the former Tiger said to Bristol Live.

“A fantastic club; the guys and manager were fantastic with me, and I honestly believed I would be sticking around for the entire season.”

However, I believe that Burnley was a little worried about the position I was playing in.

Nevertheless, when the chance to come here presented itself, I jumped at the chance, and I’m glad to be here, prepared to give it my best until the conclusion of the season.

Although Twine came in with a stellar reputation for his set-piece accuracy, he only scored once, from a free kick, in a 3-0 victory over Cardiff City in mid-December.

He blames this loss on the different ball sizes used in the Premier League and EFL.

Regarding his set-plays, he remarked, “I’m always trying to get better at it.”

It takes me a little while to get used to it since, strangely enough, the balls change every year.

I practiced with Premier League balls during the entire preseason, so when I went on loan, I had to try to adjust once more.

They differ greatly from one another.

The Premier League balls are significantly different from the FA Cup balls in terms of flight, weight, and even material.

Although it took some getting used to, I practice a lot because of this.

I absolutely enjoy practicing my set pieces, free kicks, and ball striking. I believe I’ve finally gotten the hang of it.

It should come as no surprise that Twine is happy to be back again with Liam Manning, his former MK Dons manager and the guy who has helped him thrive, and that he connected with him again when he moved to Ashton Gate.

“Hopefully, I can replicate my best football performance there,” he stated.

I enjoy working for him since he is an excellent manager.

They let you express yourself a little bit, which is something I find incredibly helpful for attacking players because you know that you won’t get picked apart if you make a few mistakes while trying to do the right thing.

That’s a whole other conversation if your goal is to play the incorrect balls and do the wrong things.

However, I think I can express myself, try to make something, and get points.

“My goal for these six months is to play as well as I can.

I’m here to support the team as much as I can, play my best football, and have fun.”

Any player genuinely wants to be performing at their very best, and that is what I want to be doing.

Naturally, I would like to achieve that, but in order to do so, I need to do really well throughout these six months.
