Eddie Hearn Anticipates Anthony Joshua’s Return to the Ring in Late Summer or Fall

In August or September, Eddie Hearn anticipates Anthony Joshua entering the ring.

By defeating Francis Ngannou in March, the former world heavyweight champion established himself as the next opponent of the victor of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s two undisputed heavyweight title bouts.

While a rematch between Fury and Usyk is planned for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it is improbable that it will happen before late 2024.

With four wins in less than a year, Joshua has restored his name after losing to Usyk repeatedly, and he is eager to keep competing. According to his promoter, if Fury and Usyk agree to a rematch, Fury would probably fight the victor of Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois’ June 1 bout.

Hearn of Matchroom remarked, “The fact he’s had four fights in 11 months—that’s a lot of training camps.” “He has completed 40 weeks in 11 months, with each training camp lasting 10 weeks. It’s likely that he would prefer to fight in July, but I believe it will happen in August or September. He and His Excellency met the other day, and they decided to wait and see what occurred on May 18.

“We’ll wait and see what happens on May 18th,” His Excellency stated. However, it will be challenging for Fury and Usyk to rematch since, should Fury prevail, the pressure to challenge “AJ” will become unmanageable. However, they have a two-fight agreement.

Most likely, the winner between Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic, or the Fury-Usyk winner,. We are aware that they have a two-fight deal. Now, really, the goal is to compete for a world championship. In reality, he wants to accomplish that.

Joshua might still win against either opponent because Hrgovic and Dubois might challenge for the IBF belt.

When asked if a bout between London’s two best heavyweight fighters would take place in Saudi Arabia if Dubois prevailed, Hearn said, “Possibly.” His Excellency has undoubtedly stated that he wishes to perform at Wembley, but the main act for that show has not yet been decided.
