The NBA offseason’s biggest winners were the Boston Celtics. The acquisition of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis by the Celtics was possibly the most significant summertime move, even though most people were talking about Damian Lillard joining the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s safe to claim that they were successful now that we’re in the present. The Celtics have now broken the record for the most 25-point victories in a single NBA season, as Get Up tweeted. After defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, they have now won 19 games of 25 or more this season, surpassing the records of the 1970–71 Milwaukee Bucks and the 2015–16 San Antonio Spurs, who all had 18 victories. Given that they have already played 88 games, that accomplishment is even more astounding. They may yet increase to that total over the course of the next few weeks. The Celtics have won by a margin of at least 20 points in three of their last four games and by at least 14 points in the other two. They had a winning record even before the All-Star break, and they had by far the best record in the NBA. But without the ring, it will mean nothing, as the Golden State Warriors learned the hard way in 2015–16.Although the Celtics have performed admirably in the postseason thus far and should have little issue defeating the Cavaliers, they still have to prove themselves because they have a history of underperforming in the tournament.
