College football fans were treated to brotherly love during Monday’s national championship game between Michigan and Washington. University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was surprised by his brother John on the sideline at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
The Baltimore Ravens head coach grabbed his brother from behind and the two hugged.
While Jim led Michigan to the title game, John’s Ravens have recently been stars of the pro team. The Ravens reportedly had plane trouble on the way to Texas, and John was late arriving at the stadium.
The Harbaugh brothers famously played against each other in Super Bowl XLVI when Jim was still the coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
The Michigan Wolverines will take on the Washington Huskies and coach Jim Harbaugh will be on the front lines. His night was made even more special by a visit from his brother, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh.

John Harbaugh appeared to surprise his younger brother by coming up behind him at a key moment in the game. Ravens fans are familiar with the famous Harbaugh coaching brothers, as John and Jim’s NFL teams faced off in the historic Super Bowl 47, the so-called “Harbaugh Bowl.”
But on Monday night, just as John headed to Houston to cheer on Jim and the Michigan Wolverines for the college football national championship, the brothers were on the sidelines. The broadcast showed John appearing on the sidelines, much to Jim’s surprise.
The Harbaughs are in Houston for Michigan State’s National Championship game. Jim Harbaugh’s son, Jay Harbaugh, the Wolverines’ special teams’ coordinator, is of course on the sidelines. Midway through the second quarter, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh came to the sideline.
Jim Harbaugh was a bit surprised when he walked up to his brother who was focused on the national championship game against Washington. John Harbaugh tapped Jim Harbaugh on the shoulder, and Jim Harbaugh turned around, immediately realizing it was his brother visiting him at work.
Due to a tornado watch and other severe weather in the area, flights to the area were canceled, including one carrying John, former Michigan quarterback and current Ravens quarterback Mike Macdonald, and other employees of Other Ravens who thought they would come help Jim’s Wolverines.

However, John Harbaugh and the Ravens were delayed due to weather en route to the game when their plane was diverted to Austin, Texas. But that didn’t stop John Harbaugh from supporting his brother.
