Erase the Bucs from taking on the Chiefs in Kansas City on NFL “Opening Night,” the team that just won the Super Bowl. That choice remained open until the NFL confirmed this morning that the 2024 season will begin on Thursday, September 5, with the Chiefs hosting the Ravens. Hopefully, the Ravens won’t be traveling to Tampa for their next game, as they have already done this season. Baltimore arriving in town rested is the last thing the Bucs need. Joe doesn’t care when the Bucs visit Kansas City this season, although a game in December or January at historic Arrowhead Stadium is likely to have bad weather. Joe and Sage Ira both agreed on the Ira Kaufman Podcast that the Bucs’ ideal opening-day opponent would be the Atlanta Falcons. Nothing would please Joe more than to witness a hurt Kirk Cousins at the beginning of the season and to put an end to the nonstop national media babble regarding the Falcons’ superiority over the Bucs.
