Interviews for the Raiders open position with a former Cardinals coach
Arizona After leaving the Arizona Cardinals, Kliff Kingsbury has continued to be interviewed.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that Kingsbury was hosted by the Las Vegas Raiders today for their open offensive coordinator position.
Kingsbury has also conducted interviews with the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles.
“According to reports, the Raiders interviewed Kliff Kingsbury, an assistant at USC, today in Vegas for the position of offensive coordinator.
Ex-Browns OC Alex Van Pelt was in yesterday, and ex-Bears OC Luke Getsy was in earlier in the day,” Breer posted on Twitter/X.
With so many coaching changes in the NFL this offseason, Kingsbury was a name to keep an eye on.
Even with his disappointing 28-37-1 record as a Cardinals coach and his firing from Texas Tech before moving to Arizona, Kingsbury is still regarded as a promising young offensive thinker who may yet prove himself as an all-out offensive play-caller.
Kingsbury was Lincoln Riley’s offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach at USC during the previous season.
Caleb Williams is predicted to be the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In addition, Kingsbury has worked with other notable players like Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Patrick Mahomes.
Antonio Pierce impressed during his time as the Raiders’ “interim” head coach after Josh McDaniels was fired, and the team stated that Pierce will stay in that role.
