Miami Dolphins acquire a new target

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, two 1,000-yard receivers, were already available for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to throw to. A three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is now joining Miami’s roster through NFL free agency.

 

According to NFL Network and ESPN on Friday, Odell Beckham Jr. has agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract with the Dolphins. Due to incentives, the deal may be worth up to $8.25 million.

Following his 2022 absence from action, Beckham made a comeback in 2023, participating in 14 games and hauling in 35 catches for 565 yards and three scores for the Baltimore Ravens. Beckham has 566 receptions for 7,932 yards and 59 touchdowns in 110 NFL regular-season games.

After suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear while playing for the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI, Beckham was sidelined for the 2022 season.

Beckham entered the NFL as a first-round selection of the New York Giants in 2014 and was recognized for the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons.

In the NFL Draft of 2024, Miami made seven selections, two of which were wide receivers. Malik Washington of Virginia and Tahj Washington of Southern California were selected by the Dolphins in the sixth and seventh rounds, respectively.

With 4,624 passing yards in the 2023 season, former Alabama All-American Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards.

Former West Alabama standout Hill caught 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023, leading the NFL in receiving yards and tying for the lead in receiving touchdowns.After being selected sixth in the 2021 NFL Draft, Waddle, a former star player for Alabama, recorded his third consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2023 with 72 receptions for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns.
