The medical professional reveals the long-term injury judgment for Everton player Dwight McNeil.
In response to reports that he would require a stretcher to be removed from the field during the FA Cup third-round match against Crystal Palace, the injury specialist said.
Several days later, Sean Dyche clarified the situation, saying that the English winger was back in action and that the Toffees were fortunate that he did not suffer a major injury.
Brar, a physical therapist and sports science expert, exclusively spoke to Goodison News about McNeil.
“Dyche’s remarks and the very short recovery period suggest that this is a Grade 1 ankle injury.
When a player has to be carried off the field, teams naturally worry about the worst, and at first it appeared like he might not return for months.
“Dyche acknowledged that Everton was fortunate to recover quickly and return to action, which is a testament to the medical team and the player.”
On the 14th, McNeil returned to action and played just 27 minutes against Aston Villa. He then went on to play 90 and 78 minutes against Crystal Palace and Luton Town.
He is probably close to 100% now; therefore, he must have gained match sharpness by starting both games.
