Why Roy Lopez, Michael Carter Among the Late-Arrival Assistance for….

Jonathan Gannon claims that gazing too far into the future causes him anxiety.

Questions would undoubtedly have been raised if someone had informed him in Week 1 that several of the team’s most important players weren’t even on the roster. However, the level of output that certain midseason additions have brought to the team is undeniable.

One such example is running back Michael Carter, who scored a receiving touchdown in addition to rushing for 61 yards on seven carries in the surprising 35-31 victory over the Eagles.

He sort of fits in perfectly with what we’re doing. He is what we want guys to be—all ball, team first,” added Gannon. “He is very athletic and full of energy when playing football. I adore him for his love of the game of football.”

Carter was added to the roster via waivers after the Jets cut him, with the intention of enhancing the running back room and providing a complementary element for the offence in situations where James Conner needs a break. After Carlos Watkins and L.J. Collier of the Cardinals squad sustained season-ending injuries, the Valley native Roy Lopez was signed as a defensive lineman.

Like Carter, he took charge on Sunday. He filled in for another defensive lineman on injured reserve, Jonathan Ledbetter.

“We’re excited for each other (to win) because it took every single one of us,” Lopez stated. “Everyone who watched this game knows that we all had to pull together. I have nothing but praise for the offensive unit’s performance and defensive coordinator Nick Rallis’ call of the game from top to bottom.”

Gannon finds it most impressive how seamlessly midseason roster additions have integrated into the team. Good football players and moral character make up the foundation of this staff.
