Kenny Pickett, the former quarterback for the Pitt Panthers, is recovering and may return shortly.
Kenny Pickett, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers and a former Pitt Panther, was supposed to miss four weeks due to an ankle injury, but he is making a lot of effort to miss less time this week.
The former Pitt standout, Pickett, practiced with the club for the first time since his injury ahead of a crucial game against the Bengals in which the Steelers will attempt to salvage their postseason aspirations.
The previous day, Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Steelers, stated that Pickett was making good progress and that they would give him a chance to play this weekend against the Bengals.
In Week 13’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, Pickett sprained his high ankle. The loss set off a three-game losing run that eliminated the Steelers from contention for the postseason in the crowded AFC. Since then, he had worn a boot, but his health was sufficient.
With three weeks remaining in the regular season, the Steelers are still alive despite their remote chances of making the playoffs. This coming weekend, they will host Cincinnati before travelling to Seattle and Baltimore to close off the year. To even stand a chance of making it into the pitch, they will need to win each of those games and will also require assistance from other teams in the AFC.
