In the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles added nine draft picks, 14 free agents, and 12 of their own players to their roster. Despite their recent activity, the Eagles may get even better after these acquisitions. Include a second linebacker. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound linebacker would provide Philadelphia’s LB group much-needed size if he stays healthy. Gardner-Johnson, a fellow safety. In 2022, Simmons and Johnson not only shared the league-high six interceptions with two other players, but they also accomplished it in just 12 games combined. Vic Fangio is the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles; as safety Justin Simmons of the Broncos puts it, “They’ve got a great one.” Eight years with Denver, Simmons racked up thirty interceptions, fourteen of which came under head coach Vic Fangio, the current defensive coordinator for the Eagles. Although reconnecting with Fangio could be difficult given Simmons’ $11.2 million market value, it could be beneficial for a squad that is in a “win-now” attitude. S Quandre Diggs Sign Diggs might perform equally well if the team is unable to sign Simmons. Before joining the Seahawks in the middle of the 2019 season, the nine-year veteran played for the Lions for five years. In his five years with Seattle, Diggs recorded eighteen interceptions and made three consecutive Pro Bowls. Additionally, he began his NFL career as cornerback, which in 2024 would provide Philadelphia with much-needed flexibility. Though he is only one year older than Simmons at 31, he would still be a significant improvement over Reed Blankenship, a 25-year-old undrafted free agent who signed with the team in 2022.
