INJURY UPDATES: Max Fried and three bullpen arms’ injuries

Recently, the Atlanta Braves have had some difficulty stopping runs. We received updates on several arms’ injuries today, which should help the pitching get back on track.

Today, the Atlanta Braves’ pitching staff released a tonne of injury updates. Actually, beat reporter Mark Bowman provided four separate updates. Max Fried, the staff ace, was the most prominent name on that list.

Following his most recent 65-pitch outing yesterday, there was conjecture that Fried would require at least one more rehab start; manager Brian Snitker confirmed this today. Fried might be able to start during their upcoming homestand if it is really just one more rehab start.

Dylan Lee, the player who has been out of commission the longest, will be the subject of our next update. His left shoulder inflammation has kept him off the pitch since the middle of May. According to Bowman’s report today, he emerged from his most recent bullpen session in optimal health.

There’s a rumour going around that Lee might not need to go on any rehab excursions. As a result, some have speculated that he might make a comeback as soon as the forthcoming Boston series.

A.J. Minter is on the injured list due to a pectoral strain. Thankfully, the injury appears to be very minor, as the team initially believed. Minter also received encouraging feedback from his bullpen session.

The legendary Jesse Chavez is the final reliever we need to discuss. Of the four updates we received, this one was regrettably the most depressing because Chavez is still limping a little.

Since mid-June, when Miguel Cabrera hit a line drive comebacker, he has been out of commission. He is still, at least, a few weeks away, according to reports. In his sixteen-year career, Chavez was having one of his best seasons, so this development is extremely unfortunate. Chavez has a 2.49 FIP and a 1.55 ERA on the season.

I hope to see each of these guys return to the mound as soon as possible. After they complete the rotation, the bullpen will have a large pool of excellent arms.
