The $600,000 debt owed by Serena and Venus Williams’s stepmother Lakeisha Williams threatens to foreclose on the house where they learnt to play tennis as children. According to The Sun, the former stripper racked up debt from a failing trucking company, “fast food, and frivolities.”

As part of his daughters’ education, Richard Williams purchased the Palm Beach Gardens home in 1995. He later married Lakeisha in 2009 and brought her into the home. But after their 2017 divorce, Williams charged his wife of “stealing” the house by using a forged signature on official paperwork.
After the divorce, Lakeisha retained ownership of the home, but mortgage lender David Simon filed for foreclosure in 2021. Despite Lakeisha’s best efforts to postpone the foreclosure, she was unable to pay the lender a minimum of $10,000, which caused the debt to accumulate to $620,000.
The mansion will be liquidated to satisfy Simon and twenty other creditors after Judge Mindy Mora dismissed a fresh bankruptcy bid without prejudice.
