Shocking: Emma Raducanu, I Wasn’t Very Good at Handling Anything

Emma Raducanu, a promising tennis player from Britain, offered a unique justification for her unexpected loss at the Madrid Open. The 21-year-old has had injury issues recently, but he made his court debut earlier this year following a roughly 12-month hiatus. In the round of 128, the former world no. 10 fell to Argentina’s María Lourdes Carle in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Raducanu said in a post-match interview that she was “mentally and physically exhausted,” which was evident during Wednesday’s encounter. “The past few weeks have been a lot, I would say,” she remarked. “I believe it was evident from my performance tonight that I was emotionally and mentally worn out. Even though I was making an effort, I was unable to persevere today. The sport is just, I suppose, rather violent. Raducanu continued by emphasizing her coach Nick Cavaday’s absence. “That kind of sucked, because I definitely missed him not being here,” she remarked. “It was wonderful that Iain could leave and drop everything while I had him here. Although difficult, the situation wouldn’t develop as you had hoped. Simply put, I wasn’t very good at handling anything.
