Anthony Joshua Drops Hints on Timing for Tyson Fury Bout: ‘It’s Definitely on the Horizon

Anthony Joshua has made hints that, after the Gypsy King’s undisputed heavyweight bout with Oleksandr Usyk, he would eventually take on Tyson Fury in September.

On May 18, Fury and Usyk will square off in a highly anticipated fight for the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF belts in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Joshua stated to BBC Sport that the outcome of Fury vs. Usyk will determine his future when questioned about his fight plans while at the London Marathon.

“Boxing is changing a lot; there is a new player, Turki Alalshikh, who is taking the world by storm,” Joshua told BBC One. It’s incredible that he is acting on his desires for the fans. Thus, I am confident that he would give if the fans ask for it. I want Fury and I know that’s what the supporters want. He’s a guy of action, but I won’t reveal any intentions. It is coming; it is coming, for sure.”

Joshua also alluded to the possibility of a fight in September when asked if a matchup with Fury would be his next move.

Hearn stated earlier this month, “I never thought I would be OK saying I am not the most powerful man in boxing, but I am; Turki Alalshikh is.” “He is the biggest fan of fighting I have ever encountered, and the biggest moments and fights are all he wants.”
