Veteran heavyweight fighter Derek Chisora of Britain has given his explanation for why he feels Anthony Joshua’s prior trainer “failed him,” saying he saw Joshua’s previously damaged confidence come around. Rob McCracken had been Joshua’s trainer since he was an amateur, helping him get to the top of the heavyweight division and become the global face of boxing. 
But Joshua decided to split ways with his longtime trainer when McCracken neglected to tell him that he was behind on the cards for their first fight in 2021 against Oleksandr Usyk. In order to get ready for his rematch with Usyk, the British fighter again turned to Robert Garcia, but after losing once more, he fired the Mexican. “AJ” then chose Derrick James, who made an effort to regain his confidence by defeating Finnish fighter Robert Helenius and Michigan’s Jermaine Franklin.
However, Joshua seems to get along well with British fighter Ben Davison, having won two strong knockouts since splitting from James towards the end of last year.Londoner Chisora asserted in an interview with Crypto Casinos that cultural barriers limit the influence James may have on Joshua’s aptitude and mindset. It’s a distinct fighting technique, so I do believe that British boxers do better when trained by British coaches at home. It would be like asking an American spouse to prepare a Sunday roast when they are unfamiliar with the recipe, haven’t done it before, and didn’t have one growing up.
