After being let go by the Miami Dolphins and suing the NFL, Brian Flores has not been able to secure a new position as head coach. However, given that the Minnesota Vikings recently hired him as defensive coordinator, it may be working in their favor at the moment. The seasoned instructor now discusses the status of the lawsuit.
It was questioned if the defensive coordinator for the Vikings’ lawsuit against the league may influence his decisions as head coach. Based on what Flores said, “There’s no way to know,” Kevin Seifert of ESPN said.
“Brian Flores verified that throughout this cycle, he was not contacted for any head coach interviews. Furthermore, I truly have no control over that circumstance. I’ll just say that I’m content right now. The off-season has been fantastic. It’s been a while since I’ve spent so much time with my family. It is impossible to know. It’s not something I think about all that often. I make an effort to be present where I am, which is among the Vikings. I make an effort to not worry about things beyond my control.
I think that was the best response he could have given. Brian Flores can only do things that he can control because he is focusing all of his time on coaching the Vikings. His lawsuit against the NFL is currently out of his control and will proceed in whichever manner it chooses.
Perhaps Flores will take over as head coach in the future. He will, however, function as a highly rated defensive coordinator for the time being. The Vikings might make a quick recovery if they make the appropriate selections in the NFL Draft and have a strong coaching staff.

Right now, Minnesota holds the 11th and 23rd picks in the NFL Draft. The Vikings have a lot of alternatives after those two selections. They have the ability to select and add some promising young players to their squad. Some people think they intend to move up for a rookie quarterback with the picks. Though nothing is certain, the Vikings have a wonderful opportunity to bolster their roster through the NFL Draft. The quarterback position is severely lacking after the loss of Kirk Cousins. Though there are other gaps in the squad, none are as obvious as the quarterback position.
