Just in: Pittsburgh Steelers Considered Trade for Deebo Samuel During 2024 NFL Draft

Pittsburgh According to Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Pittsburgh Steelers were considering making a deal during the 2024 NFL Draft in order to acquire wide receiver Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.

“For what it’s worth, I’m told the Steelers had interest in trading for Deebo Samuel but were unwilling to meet the 49ers’ price,” Silver wrote on Twitter.

After the draft began, it was believed that the 49ers were more interested in moving Samuel than Brandon Aiyuk, but they were unable to find a taker in the first two rounds. Following the first-round selection of Ricky Pearsall, talk of a possible trade grew louder, with the Steelers mentioned as a team looking to acquire an experienced wide receiver.

It appears that Pittsburgh has been looking for a wide receiver all offseason. They had mentioned Aiyuk several times, but they took a detour when Samuel became available. But in the end, nothing materialized.

Even if the Steelers don’t select a wide receiver in the NFL Draft, don’t count out the possibility that they sign one this offseason. The team may try to add someone closer to OTAs or training camps if they are interested.
