According to sources who spoke with Football Insider, negotiations for a new, long-term contract between Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta are advanced. The 42-year-old is reportedly in continual conversations with the Gunners, and things are going well thus far. Happy to be back together in an attempt to win the Premier League title for Arsenal, both sides wish to carry on. Club executives are in a desperate attempt to lock Arteta down to a new, long-term deal in order to stifle interest from elite European teams. The Spaniard’s present deal expires at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season. In an effort to maintain their pursuit of their first Premier League championship since 2004, Arsenal is putting a lot of effort into securing a longer contract for the fan favorite. Arsenal and Arteta are in early negotiations regarding his contract, which ends in 2025. Even though Arteta’s team defeated Everton on the last day, they were unable to overcome Manchester City for the trophy for the second straight year. The Gunners were five points behind City at the end of the 2022–23 season and finished two points behind them.This season, Arsenal made it to the Champions League quarterfinals, although they were defeated 3-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich. Before assuming leadership at the Emirates Stadium in 2019, Arteta began his career with Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant after retirement from play.
